Technician

Full-time (but part-time will be considered)

We are currently recruiting for a Technician who will be responsible for the construction, maintenance and upkeep of client ponds and water features, predominantly in and around Dorset and Hampshire.

The position is a hands-on position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean and organised work environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision, demonstrate initiative, self motivation and possess the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.

Potential for increasing future earnings for the right candidate. Gradually learning and training will be provided for necessary skills.

Requirements:

  • Must have a full valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Ability to work independently and with others

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 kilos, bend, squat, stand, walk, reach, climb stairs and ladders as needed

  • Must be able to follow directions and safety guidelines (including bio-safety) and exercise good common sense

  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions (summer and winter months)

  • Must be flexible on hours as there is more demand in the industry during spring/summer months

  • Must be polite, professional and willing to meet customers’ expectations

  • Interest in aquatics/fish keeping and wildlife would be beneficial

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain ponds by performing routine maintenance such as pond cleans

  • Maintain and repair equipment such as pond filters and pumps

  • Construct ponds and water features to agreed specifications

  • Will be responsible for ensuring the vehicle is always well stocked, equipped and in clean condition.

  • Cleaning pond equipment used in the job (i.e. pond nets/tanks and the like) to prevent cross contamination between jobs.

  • Advising the owner of any issues with equipment or projects.

Hours of work: March to October: 8:00am - 5:00pm (Overtime during peak times if wanted this is sometimes evening during the summer period) and November to February: 8.30am - 4pm
